Those energy drinks that so many young people turn to today for that extra pop could actually being harming them. A new study says these pseudo-healthy, aggressively marketed beverages are loaded with high doses of caffeine and other unnatural additives. The Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics released a study on the health effects of energy drinks on children, adolescents and young adults. The conclusion? Energy drinks provide no beneficial and therapeutic purpose. Energy drinks consumed by juveniles especially in high doses have the potential for serious adverse health effects.
