With the growing popularity of homeowners using the “Produce the Note” strategy to fight foreclosure, some rip off websites are popping up. Beware. Don’t fall for predator websites trying to charge you for documents that you can get here for free. The Consumer Warning Network launched the grassroots “Produce the Note” effort as a non-profit service to educate consumers.
It’s a way for homeowners to fight back when they’re being treated unfairly by their lender or servicer. We don’t want you to be taken advantage of by fly-by-night opportunists trying to profit off of your hardship.
